Objective

In 2013, the UK started the build of two new aircraft carriers: the largest and most powerful ships ever built for the Royal Navy.

They are due to enter service in 2020, becoming a key component of the Royal Navy’s improved expeditionary capabilities. The management team needed to ensure a smooth, successful and compliant project management programme to meet the required deadlines.

Solution

Our software provided the right solution which project managed the build programme.

Define

Define the processes required to build and deliver these vessels to the MoD.

Provide

Provide a web-based Business Management System for the communication, management and operation of processes.

Comply

Ensure compliance with planned ISO9001 accreditation.

Our Isoma software simplifies continuous improvement across an entire organisation. What makes Isoma different? It’s built to engage and energise the workforce, not just automate it.

Results

The project was awarded the BAE Systems Chairman’s Bronze Award for Innovation and Implementation. The key benefits included:

Visibility, appreciation and improvement of the required business processes for build.

Improved efficiency and reduced operating cost, ensuring a viable solution for delivery to the Ministry of Defence.

Enhanced understanding, accessibility and communication of the Alliance processes via the web based BMS.
